Restoration Services
BURDEN is home to an international full service restoration workshop on our premises. Our restorers have over 75 years combined experience working with fine furniture of all periods.
Our services include:
- Hand carving replacement pieces
- Cabinet making
- Replacing veneers
- Inlay and marquetry
- Cleaning and polishing brasses
- Rebuilding locks
- Making keys
- Fitting leather tops
- French polishing
We also hand make our own waxes and finishes to match existing surfaces.
Custom Reproduction
We can custom reproduce chairs (and tables) to add to existing sets. We can also reproduce some items of furniture from photographs.
Onsite Restoration
Jonathan Burden also offers onsite restoration services. For jobs within the greater New York City area, we can organize a team of restorers to perform a half day or a full day of onsite restoration to your furiture, including general touch ups, polishing and waxing.

Please note: We do not arrange shipping to and from the workshop, but we would be happy to recommend a trucker.
